Kaltern and surroundings

Lake Caldaro and its surroundings offer many opportunities for sports and leisure activities. From the pleasure hiker to the mountain marathon runner, from children splashing in the lake to triathletes, from casual cyclists—whether road bikes or mountain bikes—to those preparing for the racing season, everyone finds what they’re looking for around Lake Caldaro.

Depending on the season, we are happy to recommend what you can do here and what you definitely should see.

Surfers, sailors, and all water lovers will fully enjoy Lake Caldaro (the warmest bathing lake in the Alps), as well as the Traminer Lido (adventure pool) just 5 minutes away and the nearby Montiggler forest lakes.

Leuchtenhof is also an ideal starting point for hiking and cycling tours. One of the most adventurous hikes in the area—the popular tour through the Rastenbachklamm loved by young and old—passes right by our house.

Take excursions to the surrounding mountains (Mendel, Seiser Alm, Kastelruth, Ortler...) or visit the South Tyrol Wine Museum in Kaltern, the Ötzi Museum in Bolzano...

Be enchanted by the apple blossom in spring and stroll through the spring valley near the Montiggler Lakes.

In Kaltern and the surrounding area, you will never get bored. Additionally, Lake Garda is just 1 hour away, and Venice can be reached in about 2.5 hours.

Every Thursday in July and August, there is an evening stroll through Kaltern. All shops stay open until 10 PM.
